Step 6: Sustainable trade fair presence

Many see digitalisation, virtual and hybrid event formats and phygital (physical + digital) trade fairs as the Holy Grail of sustainability. Although the shift towards digital formats is clearly noticeable, it is not necessarily sustainable. However, the labour required, the high energy consumption of server farms and the use of rapidly outdated electronics are offset by the long-term use of content, the reduction in international travel and resource-saving production.

Only holistically sustainable trade fair participation is the ideal medium for credibly communicating and disseminating sustainable business models and acquiring new customers.

Against this background, important questions for exhibiting companies are

  • Which aspects of sustainability are relevant for trade fair participation?
  • What is the best way to approach the topic and reduce complexity?
  • How can this be implemented and how can your stand builder, for example, support you?

Only holistically sustainable trade fair participation is the ideal medium for credibly communicating and disseminating sustainable business models and acquiring new customers.
